European leaders met within the Coalition of the Willing to accelerate support for Ukraine and reinforce EU defence readiness. The discussion emphasized urgent financial backing to help ensure Ukraine’s survival and maintain European security. The EU highlighted the economic pressure its sanctions continue to impose on Russia and reaffirmed its capacity to intensify that pressure.
A key topic was the Reparations Loan proposal, which leverages cash generated by immobilized Russian assets to fund Ukrainian reparations—making the war increasingly costly for Russia the longer it continues. Europe also reviewed progress on defence readiness, military mobility, and industrial cooperation, noting that Ukraine is involved in most submitted SAFE plans and is providing critical battlefield insights for Europe’s defence posture.
Leaders stressed that Ukraine is pursuing genuine diplomacy while Russia obstructs negotiations and escalates attacks. Despite Russia’s attempts to sow division, European unity has strengthened around shared security interests and values, reinforcing a collective commitment to support Ukraine and defend Europe.
