Today I met at Palazzo Chigi with the President of Ukraine, @ZelenskyyUa.

During the meeting, we reviewed the status of the negotiating process and outlined the next steps required to pursue a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. We also emphasized the importance of maintaining unity between European and American partners, along with ensuring that Europe continues to contribute meaningfully to decisions that will shape the continent’s security.

Equal attention was given to defining credible and robust security guarantees capable of preventing future aggression, as well as to maintaining sustained pressure on Russia so that it approaches the negotiating table in good faith.

I reiterated Italy’s solidarity with the Ukrainian people and confirmed that Italy will continue to do its part in supporting Ukraine, including preparations for its future reconstruction.
